Baptism

Highland Park does not believe baptism to be necessary for salvation. This belief does not negate baptism’s
importance. It is a crucial act of obedience for a new Christian that follows his or her conversion. Baptism is a symbolic way that believers identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Jesus was baptized and we want to follow his example. Moreover, it is the public profession of faith that we recognize as an essential requirement of church membership. Most of our baptisms occur during our Sunday morning worship service, but we occasionally baptize people in our other weekly services.
