For men, the gospel changes us into the kind of husbands, fathers, brothers, and friends that please Jesus. The gospel changes women into the moms, wives, daughters, and friends that bring glory to God.
In Romans 1:16, Paul says that the gospel is the power of God for salvation. Thus, the Bible clearly teaches us that the gospel gives us eternal life, but it involves more than an address in heaven. In the gospel you find the power of God that changes everything about you. A Christian will spend a lifetime growing to become more like Jesus, and Highland Park is a church in which its members do this together.

After receiving Jesus and being saved by the gospel, the natural question for a Christian to ask is, “What’s
next?” Trusting Christ as Savior is a personal decision that you make to follow Christ, but it is not meant to be private. In a public way, God wants all Christians to identify themselves as followers of Jesus. This act of obedience is baptism.
